- the bible according to craig -

chapter 1: verse 1:

"in the beginning there was the word. and the word was yahweh."
yahweh translates to love.

end of story.
close book now.

it's kinda tragically funny how this simple concept eludes so many.
and in another kind-of ironic way, i find it funny how wiccians seem to be the closest to hitting this concept on the head with their "harm none" policy, yet they don't subscribe to a biblical faith.

so what does this mean? it's things like this that make me not want to associate with organized religion. know that phrase, 'too many cooks in the kitchen'? it applies. frankly, i wish christians and jews and muslims and everyone else who reads this same silly man-made book would stop there on page one and think about it for a while before they start their next crusade or jihad or genocide or whatever in the name of their god. unfortunately, religion isn't about spirituality and finding your center or your purpose or attaining some higher grace anymore. it's an excuse. a way to get an extra day off work or an early dismissal from school or a reason to sue your co-workers for discrimination. or worse yet, a reason to go to war. nevermind that inner peace and happiness bullshit. let's use religion as a defense mechanism to deal with our own insecurities and justify our wrongdoing.

man, people need to get a clue.

i know this was random, but once in a while these things strike me.

so do me a favour? try it on for a day. tell someone you appreciate them. share that 'love' as it were. make their day a little nicer without asking for or expecting anything in return. then let me know how it works out for you. i guarantee it'll go over alot better than you'd expect...
