Awhile ago, I commented on
debris4spike's journal so I could do this meme, then didn't get to it - so, rather belatedly, here it is. If you want to play too, let me know in comments - I'll pick up to three fandoms from your interests list - you fill in the answers.
These are the fandoms
debris4spike chose for me:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
01. The first character I fell in love with: I don't think I was ever in love with a character - but I definitely found (find) Spike to be the most fascinating - I love redemption story lines and many of my favorite characters are those on such a journey. Plus he was handsome and funny. Though I do have a thing for Giles - he's one of my imaginary boyfriends.
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Probably Xander, and that's thanks to
speakr2customrs,
ozma914, and
nwhepcat who have all written stories with a smart, competent, likable Xander.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Kennedy. She shows up a lot in fic, so I guess people like her but I didn't, really.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Not that everyone else hates, but it always surprises me when I realize that a one of my fannish friends hates Spike. To each her own!
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Guess I don't have one of those.
06. The character I would shag anytime: Giles!
07. The character I want to be like: Tara, I think, or Giles when he's not being blind to how much Buffy really needs him.
08. The character I'd slap: Shrieking Dawn. Sometimes Buffy or Willow or Giles.
09. A pairing that I love: Spike and Buffy. Willow and Tara. Giles and someone who will stick around and be his equal!
10. A pairing that I hate: Willow and Kennedy. Angel and Buffy - that never did seem healthy.
12. My five favorite characters: Giles, Spike, Tara, Joyce, Anya
13. My five least favorite characters: Riley, Prof Welsh, Demon Willy (that doesn't sound right!), Shrieking Dawn. Warren, I guess.
14. Which character I am most like: Giles? Gotta love that research! I want to do the right thing, but I think sometimes I'm blind to what the people I love need from me.
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: Well, it's not deep and dark - but the first Buffy episode I saw was the one where Spike was chipped and the Initiative was chasing him - he was putting on an American accent, pretending to be a friend of Xander's - and I didn't realize he was meant to be a bad guy. I thought he was a good vampire (having missed much of the beginning of the ep, thus not knowing about the chip) and was confused for a bit later when I found out he wasn't.
Star Trek: Voyager
01. The first character I fell in love with: Chakotay.
02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Seven of Nine.
03. The character everyone else loves that I don't: I don't know about this one. I can't think of anyone off-hand.
04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Everyone seems to hate Neelix and I really like him.
05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: Chakotay. I like him ok but . . . Also, Paris.
06. The character I would shag anytime: Given my answer to #5, is it horrible if I say Chakotay?
07. The character I want to be like: I'm not sure I'd like to be like anyone on Voyager, really. Hmmm.
08. The character I'd slap: Seven of Nine's parents. Who puts a young child in that kind of danger? How stupid were they?
09. A pairing that I love: Hm. Well. Paris/Kim. (Sorry any anti-slashers I might know, but I like that pairing - and I really thought they were going there in The Chute.) I also liked Seven and The Doctor together. I wonder if there could've been any future in that.
10. A pairing that I hate: Never did like Paris/Belanna - and that has nothing to do with liking Paris/Kim; it's just a pairing that never made a lot of sense to me and seemed to come out of nowhere.
12. My five favorite characters: Kim, The Doctor, Seven of Nine, Neelix, Tuvok.
13. My five least favorite characters: Seska, Paris, Janeway, Chakotay, Paris's dad.
14. Which character I am most like: I don't know. As much as I like Voyager - and I do - I guess I don't really identify with any of the characters, certainly not like I do the original Star Trek characters.
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: This is the show that introduced me to slash fic. (Which I'd heard of but never read - then I found Killa's Ghost in the Machine.) Also the one that introduced me to really, really, professional-quality gen fic. (Thanks, Macedon, wherever you are now!)
