I love strawberries and buy them frequently during the spring and summer, even into the fall. (I could get them year-round, but I've never bought flavorful strawberries in the winter.) During the summer the store sells local ones, which really are the best. The rest of the year, they come from California. I'm not sure what they do to the strawberries when they grow them in California but -
Look at that thing! It's literally the size of a small apple. We have clementines in the fridge that are smaller than it. Even more amazing, it was really good, sweet and juicy with a lot of flavor. Sometimes oversize fruit is just bland with no taste and kind of dry, but this was a really good strawberry. It took several bites to finish it.
Two more strawberries left in the box (both big but neither that size) then no more till Friday. I'm tempted to buy two boxes this week.
