Sometimes you just have to laugh.
I know the words sold out get thrown around a lot. But if there's any proof of an artist "selling out to the man for the almighty dollar" it has to be Nelly Furtado. Does anyone remember when she first came out and she had some genuine music. The image of an independent woman with folky rock alternative music. Now I have seen recent promotions for her new album which is pretty much hip hop beats and she's precieved as some sex object.

All this came to my attention when I first saw a cell phone commercial that appearently had her new song. That and I stumbled acrossed a myspace site devoted to preaching about how she had sold her soul to make a buck.
