Dual Disc has got to be one of the worst ideas concieved by the recording industry. I have avoided these CDs because I felt I didn't need to shell out 5 extra bucks for a CD that contained a DVD side which featured the album in 5.1 Dolby Surround Stereo and maybe a music video of the first single. Plus, I think it robs you of the original artwork that was supposed to be on the disc.
I had recently come upon these Dual Discs for Christmas and I didn't think much of it except, "Well, it was a gift."
The DVD portion worked fine, I watched their "Behind the Scenes making of the Album" which really offered nothing but a guitar tech tuning guitars and a drummer tracking songs.
But when I went to listen to the CD, low and behold it would not read the audio portion. My portable CD player wouldn't work, my Xbox wouldn't work, even my computer wouldn't read it. So at this point I feel that I deserve the right to download the entire album for free. A get out of jail free card if you will. I mean someone had to shell out 17 dollars for this disc, artwork, and anything else. The least they could do is provide the music I had hoped to originally get in return.
