The LRK is back! (For the uninformed, this happens to be cowboy!verse's Nikolai and Lita's baby girl Tatiana all grown's up. And since it has nae Shitennou, nor Senshi, it will stay on my page...
Tatiana had an important decision to make.
Aunt Amy, her mother's beloved friend and school marm to all youngsters in Serenity Lake had recently spoken of journeying back East for an extended holiday. After Tatiana's most recent prank had thoroughly embarrassed her mother and father (again), they had threatened their daughter with accompanying Miss Amy to attend a rather strict finishing school for well bred young ladies.
The thing was, Tatiana was now considering the punishment.
It wasn't that she didn't love her home - the epic landscapes, the dramatic changes in season, the great sense of community and family, it was that she thought she was destined for something more. After all, hadn't her own mother and father had their own set of adventures before settling down in the now boring town?
With Aunt Rachael also had chimed in about visiting for a bit, promising to leave the twin terrors behind, Tatiana had grown even more interested. Here was a chance to escape her parents and spend time with two women she respected and admired. Both were genteel, intelligent and toughened prairie dwellers and yet, the men in their lives always seemed to go out of their way to treat them like grand ladies. Nothing like the boys in her life seemed capable of.
So what was holding her here?
It certainly had nothing to do with Caleb McCallum, who had inherited his mother's blonde hair and father's grey eyes. It hadn't the least to do with how he had stolen a kiss at the last barn dance or how he always let her have first dibs at the best blackberries they stole from the Elysion ranch. She could leave him, what would he care? He was too busy helping his father run the ranch to care about anything else.
Maybe she would go east and become a fine lady and when she came back he wouldn't even recognize her. Maybe she would go and find a handsome and wealthy beau and never return. What would he do then?
Decisions, decisions.
