the following was posted on a sports blog in reply to the firing of alabama football coach mike shula. the individual who posted this is a co-worker of my sister's and lives in my hometown.
for any of you out there who wonder about the current state of education in our country, the following should answer a few of your questions. enjoy.
I think that Mike was done wrong. I respect him as a Coach, When he came to Alabama he came in With us on Probation and had no Recruits that was any good. The Players that are there now are his Recruits and they are very good players, and very young. I feel that he should of had more time. I think with another Year or two he could made some big changes, and I really feel we would of been a team that would go all the way next year. Every time a Coach Loses the first thing that fans want to do is fire him, No one knows what kind of pressure he was under. I have been a Alabama Fan all of my life and this has made me not want to be one. I feel he was done wrong and I feel the players were done wrong. It is not right that the Media knew before his Players Knew. I feel like he should of been the one to tell his players. This shows no Class!!!!!!! Oh yea he might be getting alot of money out of this deal, but Money is not everything. His family is very well respected. The way he was done was very Humiliated to him and to fans that are true Alabama Fans. The way people are talking they have put his name in the dirt. I think he did a great job, and he will sure be missed. He was also the Cutest Coach in the Whole SEC. I think Shula and 'Gene Stallions has been the best since Bear!!!!!! What is going to be funny is when he goes somewhere else and Coaches and has a winning season which he will Alabama will regret letting him go. You have to give everyone a fair chance and he was not given one. For one thing the Offensive Coach needs to go, the Defensive coach is Awsome he needs to stay. I just want to wish Shula the best wherever he goes, he will do great I know. He will be missed and Alabama Will regret letting him go. For one thing look at the Arkansa team we were the only team in the SEC that did not get killed by them, that is one game we should of won. But we played better than any other of the Sec Teams did. All of these Auburn Fans, they will be wanting Tubyville to go next year, because I Promise you they will not have a good season at all next year, so I guess Tubyville will be fired. If we had not of fumble twice which was 14 points, Auburn would not of beat us. I don't think Mike said okay go out there and fumble the ball. Auburn got lucky like they have all year. They did not have the team, and they were rated to high. I am happy for Arkansa though. Everyone thought they were a easy team this year, but they beat everyone in the Sec just about. I just want Shula to know I wish him the best were ever he goes and I will be cheering for him, and he was not done right at Alabama. I wish his Family the best.
