facinating thing happened today (well it was to country bumpkin me!)
We were waiting to cross King William st (main rd in Adelaide with the trams and stuff) and it was taking longer than normal...
Ever wondered why people run to catch the pedestrian lights?? Its cause it takes about 5 mins between greens!! so its the difference between getting to work on time and being late.. again...
anyway.. it was taking longer than normal 6 min passed...7 mins.... i said to di.. are the lights broken?? She said... no, its the Firies...
Huh? And about 30 seconds later i could hear the sirens... and then firetrucks went zooming past... 4 huge ones!
How clever is that.. i guess it happens in all big cities, i kept thinking about it.. you coudln't have peds half way across the road and have to mow them down, or cars across intersections.. it would be chaos...
