Things Lost and Found
I did not go to school today because i have a tummy upset and slept until eleven. I planned on doing nothing and watching season two of Buffy (i rented it from the library) but I went into the kitchen and mom's like, "No school today?"
I groaned.
She said, "Okay, I'll call the school."
I was like, i should be suspicious of her willingness to let me stay home, but am still too tired to function properly and will put my mother's cheeriness out of my mind.
She got off the phone and said, "Okay, you'll clean the house instead."
fuck.
So my mother purged my brothers room with her music blaring and then moved into mine, from which she still has not surfaced. I was told to clean the kitchen and the hallways, which i was doing, until i stumbled upon the case that my iPod was in. It felt unusually heavy, and was suddenly reminded of the part in Good Omens when Crowley turns the paintball guns into actual ones, and decided to investigate the heavy box. I opened the flippy part and found, to my great surprise, a pair of headphones, a black, velvety cover thingy, a USB cable and a plastic converter for the player that my iPod would fit perfectly. All unopened. It made me very happy and when i went to show my mother, she was in major work mode so i said nothing and backed away. Slowly.
I also found a utility clip, a rape whistle, and a knitting needle, along with several books and a few CDs. Very productive, i think. More productive then, say, Calculus, where i would be right now if i was in school, which i'm not. Ha.
And it's only 1:15.
