Road work
It's starting.
Several months ago, the city decided to "improve" the street that runs beside our house. Our half of the block never had curbs and sidewalks installed (something to do with the old city-county line). For the past couple of weeks there have been surveyors marking gas lines, water lines, and sewer lines. Today, they put up a barrier fence on our side of the street. It runs under the tree on the corner and just a few feet from our screened porch. We're going to loose several feet of our side yard. I think it is just about the actual line between our property and the city's, but it looks so far in!
They are not supposed to put the curb and sidewalk on our side, but it's going to be a mess for a while. It's a good thing War of the Wings was last weekend - the fence blocks our access to the back yard where we store the trailer!
