Richard is off for the first day of his Senior year of High School this morning. He woke up fairly easily - but that won't last more than a few days, knowing him. The morning's biggest problem is the weather. It was raining so hard that he agreed to let his dad drive him to the bus stop a short block away. He needs to ride the bus the first few days so the driver knows him. After the first week or so, he'll probably stay back after school to work with the Robotics Team (he'll most likely be Team Captain again this year).
As of our meeting with his Guidance Counselor a couple of weeks ago he will be taking AP Government, AP Psychology, English 12, Computer Programming, Game Design, Physics, and Algebra II (a repeat). Now if we can just keep him off his computer long enough to do homework. . .

Our last weekend of the summer was a good one. Jeb took Friday off and we went to Busch Gardens. They are shutting down the Big Bad Wolf roller coaster and the guys wanted to get one last ride. They rode all five coasters - and went back for an extra ride on the Loch Ness Monster. Before we left that morning, I checked the AAA web site and found that we could get a considerable discount on tickets if we picked them up at the AAA office. Fortunately, the Hampton office is only a couple of blocks off the interstate so we could make a quick stop there to get them. Very much worth it!
Saturday, we slept in. Towards evening we took a long walk on the beach. Sunday was church and fighter practice at the park. Monday it rained, but we managed to grill some chicken on the patio between showers. Yum.

***** After School update *****
I've done my homework - signing papers for Richard to return tomorrow. Two teachers issued books and he took them to his room to read the first chapter in the government book. I went upstairs a few minutes ago and he had fallen asleep. It's tough to get up at 5:30 am when you are used to sleeping until almost noon!
Tomorrow will be the other half of his classes. He had four today. (Physics is a two-block class so he has it every day).

Fighter practice is cancelled for tonight. We've had over 4 inches of rain since yesterday and the grass is wet and slippery.
