Holly Cole just released a new album in which she does a remake of the popular jazz song from Antonio Carlos Jobim, called Waters of March (originally Águas de Março). The song talks about daily life in a continuous and repeating pattern that mimics every day passing by and bringing you towards the inevitable end. The title Waters of March refers to the month of March which is very rainy in Brazil, and the music flows just like the torrents created by this rain.
I can't help shed a small tear when I listen to that song. It's probably the one-billionth remake of that song, but this one has a very special touch.
