Days 27-30

Sep 30, 2010 12:22

This week I had wanted to discuss more about Bushido but things kind of went awry. So that will be next week.

As for this week, I've just been trying to survive.

I continue my studies with Hiragana with varying degrees of success. I don't know if I want to start Katakana this week or not. I could wait until November, but I may change my mind. I've been doing really well with it, but the other day I was going over some lyrics I transcribed and realized some mistakes I was making. Like confusing the symbols for ne and nu. >_< So many look alike it's hard sometimes. Just this week I finally began to remember the difference between sa and chi.

While the writing portion is going well, the recognition process is a little slower. When I try to read back what I wrote, it takes me longer because my brain is still trying to adjust to the new 'alphabet' and form the unfamiliar words. But that will get better in time with lots more practice.

Here's a few pictures of my transcriptions: (please forgive any mistakes)

Aside from that I've been trying to get more organized with things concerning this goal of mine. Trying hard to stay on track while my brain goes off on wild fantasies about what life will be like in Japan. ^_^;

Where I work, there's not much to do besides sit there, run your press and think. Most of my co-workers probably think about paying bills or what groceries they need or whatever drama happens to be going on in their lives. But not me. I think about traveling to far off places with exotic people, moving to Japan, having wild romances and fighting injustice. If I didn't have this overactive imagination I think I would go crazy doing the same boring thing every day.

That's all for now. I want to finish another transcription before getting ready for work. ^_^ More tomorrow!
