So yeah, today there was a parade/protest against deportation. Against sending illegal immigrants away from our country for breaking our laws. They say illegal immigrants are too important to the economy, and that they should be allowed to stay. NO, you do NOT reward people for BREAKING A LAW.

As things are now, American schools require students to ( Read more... )

I was aware of the purpose of the march, they wanted to show their importanct by not going to work, and making that extra statement by protesting.

As for the decisions our goverment makes to favor this kind of crap... well, I think we just need a mulligan. Fire them all and hire new people.

you and me both sir, you and me both... I say we do a 2 year stint with people dragged in off the street with no connections or background and no political sensibilities whatsoever acting as interim government, after which we can start electing people again. Personally i'm in favor of gross ineptitude over corrupt politics though, so you may not want to take my word for it. :)

who aren't visible to the welfare system

As a small note.... I wouldn't guarantee that. I don't have it on me at the moment but I remember a Reader's Digest article which documented a reporter's extensive research into the number of illegal immigrants on welfare, particularly in Texas and nearby states. In fact, the welfare offices in that area considered it wrong to take into account whether someone was in the country legally or not and was not interested in providing information of any kind to immigration-related authorities about the people that were being given checks.

That's it exactly... they ARE on our welfare system, our health care system, even social security (somehow) and they aren't paying a dime into it... So the rest of us are coughing up money to allow them to live here where it isn't even their country.

eeenteresting... if more folks in DC had access to that information, perhaps they wouldn't be so inclined to vote for Legalization measures. i may just look up some figures and pass them on to my representatives. if you can find the figures, i encourage you to do the same, since that's the best way you or i could help to defeat this measure.
