E constantly speaks to me with "da" and "ba." You can tell she is trying to mimic the rhythm and sentence structure of the English language by the pauses in her speech and the length of her syllables. A typical statement might be "da, da, da, daaaaa . . . ba-ba ba da-da da da daaa."
We went to the university today to participate in a research study on infants. E looked at a screen with two faces: one attractive and one not. A camera recorded which face she looked at longest. Won't find out the results for another year but we got a really cute T-shirt out of the deal.
I also started the pain-in-the-ass task of rolling over my 401 to an IRA today. Only the university could make it this complicated and of course, all sorts of paperwork is involved. In researching new IRAs, I've developed an obsession with saving and investments. I'm dreaming of stocks and bonds. I've spent the past two days pouring over investment websites and crunching numbers. Me crunching numbers; I'm a liberal arts kind of gal not an accountant. What is wrong with me? Unfortunately obsessing about retirement is only further contributing to my insomnia.
I have a headache and must medicate.
Bye.
