Caytlyn Rose´s Fanfest 2008 Journal
Yup, its that time of year agin. EvE Online Fanfest, where geeks from all over the world gather in Iceland to complain about the cold and meet people that they know really well, but have never actually seen.
I can´t believe this is actually my 4th year here for this - the time seems to have gone by extremely fast. Everything will be a day late, cause I have a nasty habit of not writing things up before I go to bed.

People started arriving for Fanfest today. Kringlan (the shopping mall where I work) was full of very thinly disguised geek tourists, trying desperately to not look terribly out of place. Heh. 18 months here and I still look out of place. (Shay STILL looks like a tourist) Good luck guys :Þ
I really wanted to meet the CLS people flying in at the airport, but as I had to work till after they arrived, I didnt get to. So I had to settle for walking to the Hotel Vik in the rain to meet up with jattell, Alexandra Frigaro and Doner Durum. I brought Shay along as well, cause he hadn´t seen Alex or jattell in a while either.
We all went out to the American Style restaurant for dinner (OMG have they put the prices up or what?!) and in the grand old CLS tradition, we stayed there until the staff literally started cleaning around us. It was 11pm before we all finally went our seperate ways.
It was great to see Alex and jattell again - and awesome to meet Doner. I know Alex got some pics on his phone - I forgot to get Shay to take his camera with him.
