Intermezzo

I know, it has been a god-awful long time since I've updated my dear Livejournal. My pride and perfectionism have kept me from adding recent entries, because I was so keen on keeping my post in a chronological order, and I have about 4 months worth of my big Americas trip to report on.

I do sincerely hope to finish those posts in the not too distant future, but I decided the time had come to go for a Lost-like skip-forward to the present day, and at the same time a look back at the last year.

Last week marked one year since I got back from my trip. A year gone by in the blink of an eye, yet one that held some key events in my life. There was the slowly growing out of the student/travelling life and joining the working mob; first as a Project Manager at an events- and incentives company (which was an interesting and eye-opening experience, but it just wasn't my thing in the end); and currently as an SAP Business Intelligence Consultant for CSC, which is way more up my alley.

There is, however, a more important reason why I picked today as the day I'm dusting off my LJ: It's been exactly one year since I met the person who brightens up my every day, and who I love and adore for so many reasons… not just because she's cute, Polish, 7-lingual, the best cook, the sweetest girlfriend, she's always there for me. Simply because of who she is and, on a selfish note, the person I can be whenever I'm in her presence. I feel that Marta is all I could ask for, and much, much more than I could ever deserve. In case you think I'm exaggerating, this absolutely cute video Marta compiled for me should make you understand what I mean.

I was going to post pictures from all the trips and fun times we've had in the past year... trips to Bruges, Antwerp, The Hague, Amsterdam, Disney Land, Luxembourgh, the Belgian coast, Brighton, etc... but any effort would pale in comparison to that video... so I'll give it a few days and get back on it after our anniversary trip to Paris, this weekend.
