The vaccine cost from $400 to $550 depending on where you get it and consists of three injections spaced out over many months.
Despite the idiotic rhetoric of conservative nuts, there are a lot of good medical reasons to wait before rushing to inject yourself with a vaccine that was approved less than a year ago based on only two years of clinical results, especially if you have been previously exposed to HPV.
For example, the most recently released clinical results are very disappointing.
To summarize this published medical journal article1. In the FUTURE I trial, GARDASIL demonstrated no clinical efficacy among the general subject population for overall reduction in the rates of grade 2 and grade 3 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and adenocarcinoma -- the only recognized precursors to cervical cancer

vaccine is about 500 a pop (yes, it depends on where you're getting it). but they have this campaign thing going on now so it'll be slightly cheaper overall. the idea is to get 2 more jab after your first one at 2nd and 6th month. yes, study is still on-going to see if you need anymore jab after the 3rd dose but so far seems promising to stop at the 3rd one. i guess the primary concern worldwide is jabbing preteens (the coming vaccine from GSK apparently has studies covering kids as young as 9 to as old as 55 if i'm not mistaken, whereas gardasil only have proven studies up to 26 years. for age 27 above, the study is currently still on going. - do not quote me on all of this, haha). and the whole idea for this vaccine is PREVENTION, not cure. younger girls are less likely to be exposed to HPV, hence the big hoohaa now to start making the vaccine compulsory for young girls (and perhaps boys too). oh, i've also heard of doctors already jabbing patients older than 26 too regardless of the studies done

Cool! I think we'll be driving to Miri on 31st May and then go to Brunei (maybe for a day trip) the next day. I have a class on 5th June so we'll have to come back by 4th.
Btw, is Jelutong (sp?) Park still up and running? Thinking of taking Emily there but I am worried that it has not been maintained properly. That's what I heard from friends anyway. You have any idea?

Btw, do you know if Jelutung (sp?) Park is still up and running? Planning to take Emily there but I heard from friends that it's not been maintained properly. I am worried the rides may not be safe. Thanks!
Jerudong you mean? I believe it is still there but I, too, heard about the lousy maintenance so haven't been up the park since they charge ppl to get in.
