I wholeheartedly agree with Bryan. I think as a society, we set ourselves up to avoid change. They've also set themselves up to avoid things the way they are. That's why we only have two parties that are really ever sincerely voted for, and why they go back and forth every 12 years or so. It is a magnificent way to be complacent without looking completely complacent. Ingenious really, except for the whole shooting yourself in the foot kind of thing :)
