I'm not really here

decided not to go, mostly because there are things i simply must finish here, including, but not limited to:
immigration paperwork,
appeal,
translation,
getting personal shit together.

So I'll be here, but not getting out or doing things for awhile. I am sequestered until this paperwork gets done.
I might also read, write, and generally take some time for myself at this juncture.

PS. went into She Said Boom today. I have walked by many times and been tempted by the tasty art books and lit in the window, but i continue in order to avoid temptations. today, i made a U-turn and stepped inside:

As I peered at new used CDs, the only other patron asked for recommendations. "I'm looking for soemthing easy, just read over lunch, you know. Like detective novels..."

"Well, you might try over here [...] This one is interesting [...] He writes literature, but is really into using different genres [...]"

I reluctantly put back a Tom Waits CD and forced myself not to look at books. "I knew I shouldn't have come in here, now I have to buy these...."

"You can make up for the guy that just left. Someone should have told him that buying books is easier if you're literate," he said as he checked in Civilization and Its Discontents and I continued to not look too closely at any of the books catching my eye. A nice chat about buying books when you have no income, and opening a book store just to get them out of your house, ensued. Eventually, he rang me out (XIU XIU and Jeff Buckley), sans tax.

a man after my own heart. If I start looking at the books, I know I am going to end up having to prostitute myself.

immigration, random, books
