today was not too wonderful of a day.
Willy picked me up fifteen minutes early and i was not ready at all. my hair was wet and i was a bigger mess than normal. but that is truly not the worst of it.
i got there and amy told the supervisor of the fourth floor that i was supposed to be on the third floor. (thanks a lot :( )
and then i was forced to ask the warden what she wanted me to do. she was like "talk to the residents". man, i hate talking to the residents. then she goes on to look at me like im the stupidest piece of poop in the toilet and asks "is that too hard for you?" (:|) i can never understand what theyre saying until they get angry and yell at me! thats the part i dislike most of all!!
so talked to this one old lady and she said that she had been volunteering this morning and now she was a patient, and that the nurse staff had their heads up their asses. (her words not mine-but i whole heartedly agree!!)
and then i went and talked to this old man. he told me he was in the navy in world war two and he still is, in his heart, a navy man.
and then i took this other lady out for "nature walk" and she started this hour long story about how her parents adopted this german speaking girl, and when she was either twelve or twenty they gave her to the old lady to take care of her. she was talking about how the girl used to keep her money in her underskirt or something. i was just very confused.
then i took another lady on a walk and we spent an hour in silence. she couldnt hear me, so i stopped talking.
then i transported people to go eat. we're not allowed to serve food anymore. which is alright with me because the plates are REALLY HOT!
and then when i was taking people back up to their rooms- two old ladies yelled at me because i didnt know where there room was. how am i supposed to? i mean seriously, you ask them what their room number is- silence, which way to turn-silence, and then all of a sudden "WHAT THE HELLS YOUR PROBLEM! DONT YOU KNOW WHERE MY ROOM IS! THANKS FOR NOTHING!" it was just a really bad day. believe it or not- im soo not going to volunteer next summer.
enough of my complaining.
