Spring-cleaning my life.....
Ok......that's right....I'm ok.
I must admit, I am feeling a bit lonesome these days...until I realize it's been because I (ME!) have basically shut off my phone and shut out my friends for practically the last month. I mean, what am I supposed to do with this killer bod I'm working my ass off for? Hide it in sweat pants every weekend? heh...I think not! PS - I DID get a new phone after bending over and getting raped by Verizon. Blah. I am getting so cheap these days. The only phone they had that was around $200 (nothing less than) looked like a damn Jitterbug and who wants one of those!? I can buy a cooler-looking Tracphone at Walmart. Psht.
I am working hard though....killer bod??...nah.... I am training for a 10k the first weekend in March though. I am just feeling good and wondering when this pack-a-day smoking habit is going to start seriously affecting my workouts. So far, so good. Mind over matter, I think..... Well, I reason that a lot of our friends in the military smoke and they also go to boot camp and run alot with heavy equipment on their backs and deal with tons of stressful situations - and I haven't heard any of them complain.... but I'm not a Marine.
I am getting a taste of what my life COULD be like, still, via numerous drunk dials by Delaney to my parents' house phone after midnight, while my sleepy-bear of a Dad is home from Iraq on vacation. Grrrr.... he called me Jennifer. ouch. I wonder who she is and if she likes hanging out in an apartment with no furniture. (sorry, the mean streak comes out...).
Anywho ... work is great but a bit overwhelming right now. I am starting to feel inadequate when it comes to reviewing these construction plans. The other day, while visiting a sinkhole on-site in Mitchell with three officials from IDEM, a crazy, hillbilly-looking fellow came running up to us waving his arms and yelling! We told him we were inspecting the area for pollution run-off and he said "ohhhhh! sorry! I seen that lil un' there (and points at ME!) in the pink an thought y'all was a bunch of kids playing round tha sinkho!" Ok, so I have three things working against me here - 1) Age 2) Gender 3) The fact that I prefer wearing a pink jacket when possible over a Carhartt! I couldv'e died laughing :)
New - New Year's Resolution (haha) Be a better friend and general member of society! I will get out soon, I will I will I will!
