I am in California....here with my baby girl. Today we went to the Naval Station Medical Center for what we thought was an obstetrics appointment only to find out that Courtney was scheduled for a pregnancy class. After the class, we were talking to the nurse (Commander Haley) and I mentioned that I came out from TN thinking this was her first OB appointment, but it was okay...her husband would be with her for her first. By the time we finished talking, she said come back at 1:00 and the doctor will see you (Nancy silently dances in the hallways). We get back at 1:00; I brought a thank you card and some candy for the commander and the doctor takes us back and puts Courtney on the sonogram machine and she shows me my little baby grandchild. Courtney is 8 weeks and 4 days and due right around my birthday. It was an amazing day. I am happy to be here, can't wait to go home because I have a lot on my plate right now. But, most of all, this makes me even more determined not to take anything for granted. Life is so precious. I hope you all recognize that. Don't miss a minute of it fretting over things that are so inconsequential that you miss out on the important things...those things that money will never buy.....Be happy and at peace.
