summary: in which Takki is a genius of hard work and Tsubasa is just a genius.
Takizawa sighed and squinted over his papers, poking at them with a pen before dramatically flinging it down to clutch at his hair, rolling about on the desk.
Tsubasa prudently moved the tea cup further away. "Working hard?"
"Too many juniors," Takizawa said pitifully, staring disconsolately at his notes. "Can't decide."
"Are you drawing portraits of them all?" Tsubasa asked dryly. The papers were covered with sketchy, terribly out of proportion stick figures in various poses and what looked liked dresses but were probably just the latest Johnny's Jimusho idea of fashion. The juniors these days swished.
"Look!" Takizawa said proudly and stabbed at a particularly tall stick figure with a hexagonal head. "It actually does look like Yabu."
Tsubasa rolled his eyes. "Is this for your special project?"
"I'm going to make Yara cry." Takizawa was almost too pleased with this. "Wanna see my shortlist?"
"Only if it includes... Hm. I want a Kansai junior in your project," Tsubasa said serenely. "I think Hamanaka. He danced well at my show. And someone from Kisumai. Have you decided yet?"
"Eh?" Takizawa blinked and sat up straight. "What do you mean? I-"
"I like Senga," Tsubasa carried on blithely, taking the chance to rescue and straighten up Takizawa's stacks of papers. "He's amusing when he falls over and once he learns to dance without looking like he's being electrocuted, he won't be bad."
There was a suspicious noise like a combination of a cough and 'get down' but Takizawa's face was perfectly straight and thoughtful when Tsubasa turned to stare accusingly. "He's only sixteen."
"I think he's bigger than you are."
"Oh that's just uncalled for," Takizawa said, wrinkling his nose. "He'll be bigger than Yara, too."
"It'd be hard to find people that aren't, unless you get the chibi juniors," Tsubasa said from his lofty height of 173cm. "You might want to let him choose someone himself."
"Why would I want to do that?" Takizawa asked, genuinely puzzled. "It's my special group, isn't it...?"
Tsubasa rolled his eyes and patted Takizawa kindly on the shoulder. "Let Yara choose someone and you can choose the other members besides Senga and Hamanaka."
"Well, I guess it's okay," Takizawa said thoughtfully, reaching up to cover Tsubasa's hand with his own and lacing their fingers together. "Senga's kind of stupid but upbeat and super cheerful so he'll be interesting. He might squash Yara accidentally, though. I haven't really worked with Hamanaka but his interview was... not terrible."
"He's sort of like Senga." A pause. "But worse. By ten."
"Sold!" Takizawa cheered. "Yara will have fun with this, won't he? Or I'll have fun watching him."
"Sometimes I think you're a little cruel," Tsubasa told him but there was a twitch of a smile lingering around his mouth when he tugged his hand free and looped his arms around Takizawa for a hug from behind instead. "You haven't told him about it yet, have you?"
"He'll find out with everyone else. I want it to be a surprise," Takizawa said sincerely with his best wide eyed look, even though Tsubasa could hardly see it. "I'm done, right? Does this mean I get a reward?"
Tsubasa flicked him on the nose and laughed huskily in his ear. "It means you should choose your last member then come have dinner." A brief nip of teeth made Takizawa shudder and Tsubasa laugh again before he slipped back, all coy smiles and promises. "We'll see about a reward later."
