The Week that Was - "Sunday Morning Hockey".

My name is Lenny, and this is the longest week of my life.

Method Man of the Wu-Tang Clan once said that while we may some animosity for players when they're on other/opposing teams, we'd all jump to the chance to have them play for our team. He was talking about Basketball, but the same applies here for the Finland - Sweden game.

No matter what happens, some members of the New York Rangers will be coming home with Olympic Medals. Here I am, watching a game at 8 in the morning and rooting for players that under normal circumstances, I'd boo until the sun went down. Peter Forsberg (Flyers), Nick Lidstrom (Red Wings), Mats Sundin (Maple Leafs), The Sedin Brothers, Dan and Hank (Canucks), and Daniel Alfredsson (Senators), among others. Heaven help me, I'm supporting Red Wings. I feel dirty.

At the heart of team Sweden is the Rangers' very own rookie goalie, Henrik "Hank" Lundqvist. I'm hoping that he can walk away with the Gold. That would be too sweet.

But Finland's not playing around. Even after losing teeth in this olympics, Teemu Selanne (who looks a little like actor Stuart Townsend) is making it his mission to have Finland win this game. Between him, Koivu and Ruutu, who dealt Jaromir Jagr a bad hit this Olympic season, are players to particularly worry about. Their goalie, Nittimaki (sp?) is doing pretty good. I've never noticed this guy before. I hear Flyers, I automatically think Esche. Do they play this guy at all?

In non-hockey related things, I premiered "High Tension" in it's original French for my cousin Sarah, a big horror fan. It was a big success. She has a habit of running right over to moviepooper.com to grab the endings of movies before seeing them. It never seems to hurt her that she knows the ending beforehand, but I asked her to not look up anything about this movie. She went into the film blind, and even admitted after it was done that she was glad she did, and will add it to her scary/gory movie list. The next film will probably be King Kong, which the whole family loved.

Work wise, this is going to be the hardest week of the year. There's a special deadline going on, and it makes my job all the more intense. I'm actually mulling over the idea of possibly going into the office today to try to get a jump start on things, but it's so damn cold outside. Too cold maybe, for an hour long commute. Something tells me I'm going to be doing a few 12 hour shifts. I'm also on the hunt for an Xbox 360, as "Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter" comes out in 2 weeks. I have a better chance at winning an Oscar than I do at getting my hands on one of these systems, and I'm not even nominated for anything.
