(no subject)
The second day of the new year was uneventful but productive. I prepared the kitchen for a new year of accumulated foodstuff and J had his car towed off to be rehabilitated. No word on the car yet, but the kitchen looks bare. Mirella is still mourning the loss of her companion, and meows as she follows me around the apartment. I wish I could explain this to her so she wouldn't be so confused. We all miss Iggy, and home is not the same without him.
We met up with my CRC friends tonight for dinner. One of the girls was in town from Pittsburgh, and another (in the photo) is recently engaged, so there was much to celebrate. Everyone is working hard to find jobs or keep the ones they have, but we're all close and care about each other so we have a good time together.
The weather has turned cold, so much so that is seems like a sudden change. Instead of hovering around 50, the high was only 36 today and a chilly wind whipped around most of the afternoon and evening. It is 21 now and is predicted to get down to 16 or 17 tonight! Brrr! Winter is most definitely here.
