Fortress of Solitude question...

I'm writing this fic and I have Bruce and Clark standing outside of the Fortress, and then I realized that I don't know how they get inside. I read in Wikipedia about there being a giant key in the Silver Age, but can anyone tell me what the current method is?

I think you can come up with almost any method of getting in and out of the fortress and have it be valid. The last specific convention that I remember is in the toons where they had the entrance under a pool of water -- you had to go down into the water and then up through the door into the fortress.

Although the fortress has been prominent in the books lately, they always seem to show Superman already inside, or outside but not by a door of any sort -- at least as far as I can remember. I think you should be safe with almost anything you can come up with.

The two ways that I can remember off the top of my head are:

1. Clark has a normal sized front door key - that's from All Star Superman.

and

2. From a S/B issue - I can't remember which one, but I think it was the arc where Clark showed Bruce how evil could be overcome by the power of love, lol, and there's a eye scan thingy that also does a DNA scan.

But, really, like tmelange said, anyway you want should be fine. :)

Thanks Star! It's one of those little things that's not really important to the plot but just wouldn't leave me alone.
