Day one
I got on the plane really really early. I love traveling by plane, but I hated the attendants on the first plane. Bleh, usually flights are very good and everyone is really friendly, but not on this one. It was better thanks to the guy I sat next two on the second flight.
Either way, I got to Sonia's[
kamicomplex] house that afternoon, met her family and more or less tried to be pleasant and not tired. I didn't sleep very well beforehand, which is normal for me since I usually can't sleep before and during big things anyway, but I held out as long as I could and then went to sleep around 11 or midnight... which was far too early. I was up by 6 am and hated every moment of it.
Day Two
I got up at 6am and played Professor Layton until my DS was dying and then I..... waited I believe. It didn't have to wait long since Sonia was awake soon after it was dead.
We got ready, had breakfast, loaded the car and then was off on the road! The trip there was fun. We sung a little and talked most of the the way. We stopped for the night in Needles, CA.
WE ALSO GOT LOST! We were going to go get Jack in the Box since they don't have those out east and the directions we got... lied to us. It told us to go west on the highway when it meant east. Those lying liars.
Day Three
We got ready to go once Sonia was awake. Yes, it was another morning of me waking up early. Actually, I don't think there was a day where I wasn't the first one up and waiting for a few hours for either the alarm or them to wake up.
Either way, we got up, checked out of the hotel, got some breakfast at a place that gave it free for people who stay at the hotel. A little conversation occurred and then we were off on the road!.... getting horribly lost because Google Maps and Map Quest sucks. The GPS helped us and it seemed that we were still on the right path which was awesome~
We got to San Jose earlier than we thought we would have and went back to the hotel to chill. We did end up taking a walk and talking as we explored the area, played on the internet a little while and then went to sleep in con preparation!..... which I again woke up early for.
Day Four
We got up, put on our costumes and went out! If you check any Photodumps for Fanime, I was Ayame Sohma on Friday and Saturday and then was Shoutarou Hidari on Sunday. Both costumes I was the only one of two.
Either way, we hung out, took pictures, talked to cosplayers and met up with Connie [
korofel], Adam and Nica [
kurainoyume for a bit before going to eat and then going in to check out the dealers room and the artist alley.
We didn't stay with them for long because we met up with Kaji [
kaji_ongaku]. The three os us went to a science museum and had a lot of fun. Really. I didn't know doing something like that could so awesome. I also gave her Kamen Rider Decade, Double and Den-o. Earlier I gave Sonia Den-o & Double and I gave Koko Kabuto. I am just spreading the love of Kamen Rider to everyone~
It was actually surprising how many Heart no Kuni cosplayers there were. It almost made me sad that I didn't finish Blood. BUT I WAS SAD THAT I DIDN'T FINISH VINCENT! Apparently there was one Vincent in all of the con, but we continued to miss him and in the end decided the stupid rat was non-existent which just made me very sad inside.
We went back to the room after a while, ate, played on the internet and waited for day two
Day Five
Day two of the con and I was Ayame again!.... Never again will I wear that cosplay. I can't move, my eyes look scary and that wig is hell. It's just going to be even worse when I do Gakupo for AWA, isn't it?
This day I got to have lunch with Aniki, her girlfriend and her friend. It was awesome, let me say. Now I've met everyone in my FB rp group and I feel very very very accomplished. I had a lit of fun with her and she made an awesome Terra. It really does seem like all of my friends have cosplayed that threesome by now. I know after this game comes out, Jen's going to start getting ideas. :| I'm taking the time out to say right now that I have to be Terra if we do. Jen can be Ven and Char will be our darling Aqua.
Anyway, I went and sat with Connie-tachi until my contacts started bothering me. so we went from the con, back to the hotel and I took Ayame off and just went to sleep. By that time I was just so excited to be Shotarou because he was almost effortless.
Day Six
The day as Shotarou! We got there and went to the Game room to play a board game with Connie-tachi until the Tokusatsu photoshoot at 12:30. It was a really fun game and I could not believe that someone actually recognized me being Shotarou. It was awesome. He had a den-o belt that I thought was amazing~~
After the game was over, I gave Connie Rubii to take to the doll meet and then went off to me shoot. I really did love it more than anything else in the entire con. There were so many people there and the Deneb actually did have Deneb Candy to give out. Yes. I still have it. I am giving it to Char since she is my Philip who couldn't make it. BUT I LOVED IT! and there were two Shotarou's... so when it came time for Double's turn, we went up and he turned to me asking which one of us should be our missing partner. Naturally...... I took it since I was a girl and Philip basically is one too :| And afterward he shook my hand and said "Nice working with you, Partner." Naturally, my response was "Any time, Aibou."
I about died.
After it was done, we went off to the Guilt Gear/BlazBlue Q&A and it was hilarious. Ishiwatari and Mori was just awesome. Some of their responses were amazing and the translator was so lost and out of it that I just wished that she wasn't there at all, really.
After it was done, I went and picked up Rubii and were on the road south! We made it down to the hotel before it got too late and got everything to the room on the top floor which nearly killed us doing.
Day Seven
We went and got Kitty
heartaddiction and went to Kino and Mitsuwa. I found... I found Gaia Memory there and Magazines on Tokusatsu. Lucky to say.... I bought it. Kino had the Gackt Single with Stay the Ride Alive on it. I did my best to hold back and not buy it... but I want to get it.
I think after that we got some food and then went back to the room to plan out more stuff and then sleep.
Day Eight
This is the day we went and did Karaoke~!
It was awesome. We got the Japanese package as well and we went through singing. I amazed myself with the fact I could read most of it if it had the Furigana. I've never had to test myself on reading skills like that. We also sung a lot of American songs too. There were a few duets that were just funny to do and we just had a good time. So good that we lost track of time and didn't leave until 11 pm.
We got some weinerschitzel and went home because.... we don't have those either out east. Earlier in San Jose we had Yoshinoya since they don't exist outside of Cali.
Day Nine
Son and Kitty went off to Disneyland and I stayed in the hotel room. I really didn't feel like going since I didn't have the money and it would have reminded me too much of dad since that was the last vacation we had as a family.
Instead I spent teh day watching Kabuto and building Epyon that I bought at Fanime.
Day Ten
We went to the animal shelter today. The animals were adorable to look at and just so enticing to take home. Lucky there was no way in hell that I could do that and I wouldn't do that anyway because there are enough animals there.
We were suppose to go to the beach at night this night, but we went back to the room and just didn't go back out.
We did go out and walked to the store for some things, but that was it. It was amusing that people actually do pay attention on the street when I'm doing stupid things. Like how I was doing Luka Luka Night Fever's dance all the way to the store and then when we got there there was a guy who was amusing and pointed out he saw me dancing up the street and that it was really funny to him. I just live to amuse people~
After we got back to the room I had a headache and a small stomachache so I went to sleep a little while after we got back. I didn't really sleep well that night.
Day Eleven
We went to the discovery science museum this day and I was even less into everything today because of how I spent the night. It was interesting at least. We had to do Dinosaur missions with magic wands. At one point Kitty was instructed by a child to do the "swish and flick" and it would activate better. Needless to say when I heard about this I thought it was very very funny.
After the museum, we went to the mall. They ate, but I decided not to. I really shouldn't have, but I did. It didn't really make me feel any better to just entirely skip eating that day. When we went to the beach I tried to sleep it off on the car instead of playing in the sand like I had wanted to all week. Oh well. There will be other times to go to the beach. I really do like the beach.
Once we got back to the room, I watched more Kabuto and then went to sleep the best I could manage after talking with Char for a bit.
Day Twelve
Another Mitsuwa day! And that was all we did. By this point, we had run out of things to do and just decided the rest of the time will be spent in the hotel room. So after we went for out last hurrah, we went back to the room and just stay there. We ordered food in and I enjoyed watching more Kabuto.
Day Thirteen
The day of nothing~ We laid around and did mostly nothing on Sunday. We went out at one point to get food, but that was it. I watched even more Kabuto this day~~~
Day Fourteen
We got a late start, but we eventually left the hotel room (if forcibly) and dropped Kitty off at he house. Goodbyes were given and then Son and I were off back to New Mexico. The drive this way was pretty much quiet.
We stopped in Flagstaff, AZ for the night.
Day Fifteen
We checked out of the hotel and was back on the road again. We stopped to eat at Taco Bell and just continued on. This part of the drive was also more or less silent. We finally got back and just a few hours ago had dinner with her parents. They expressed that they wish I was staying longer so I could see some of the sights in NM, but I must go home tomorrow. It is sad but true.
Once I get back home I will post all of the pictures from this vacation because I forgot to bring the proper cord with me. ha ha ha.
