No matter how much you think things can change, every single time you turn a corner there's a new something. And then, when people think you've changed and something happens that drives you out of control even just for a second they automatically condemn you based on past actions.
[He's pretty much done with trying to be decent by this point though. It's a lot easier not to give a flying fuck.]
So why even bother trying?
Better to just not care.
