I capitulated and bought a (relatively) cheap retail PSU (power supply unit) at BestBuy. Seems to have done the trick, don't know what happened to my Thermaltake PSU besides perhaps a combination of dust and always on. Oh well, crisis past, maybe I'll play some games tonight. :D
