[There had been fingers under his collar, pulling the cursed binding away from him, almost free when... he was suddenly waking on the end of a bed in a very strangely decorated house. He had seen pictures to this sort of style before, he believed it was somewhat common in Ancelstierre, though that could not be the case. He was a ( Read more... )

[ Should Mogget find himself on Williams Road, there is a wizard in one of the driveways there with a beast of a lawnmower. His drone kid keeps insisting on mowing the lawn at stupid o'clock every morning, and he's going to put an end to it.

He raises a hand, middle and index fingers extended, and sketches a mark into the air- it looks nothing like the Charter Mogget is familiar with- but the concept may be the same. The lawnmower bends in on itself suddenly and violently, as if someone dropped a boulder on it. ]

[The sketch of a mark in the air certainly catches his attention; though he's learned by now from Theo that this world does not follow the rules of his own, and so he's padding closer to watch.

Sitting on the edge of the lawn, tongue slightly out as though to taste the residual magic - though, irritatingly, he was just a cat currently and could no more taste magic than he could transform into any of his other shapes.]

[ Warren is feeling especially vindictive, so he sketches out another spell, and the mower twists and bends again, leaving it unrecognizable. Clearly, you don't mess with the wizard's sleep schedule.

It's only when he turns to drag the poor machine down to the curb that he sees the cat. He arches his eyebrows ]

Can I help you?

If I needed help, I would have asked for it by now.

[He stretches, before starting to lick one paw unconcernedly.]

[ The cat can talk. Is he really surprised anymore? No, not really. ]

Has no one told you it's rude to stare?

Several times.

[He doesn't seem to care about his manners though, ducking his head and starting to clean his belly.]

I somehow get the feeling you don't care.

Are you supposed to be a cat, or was that the town?

I am many things, though much fewer now.

A cat is one of those things.

Vague. Are you some sort of shifter, then?

No, at the moment I am a cat. That should be enough for you.

[ He shrugs. He's sure he'll find out sooner or later ] Fine, you're a cat. Do you have a name?

You can call me Mogget.

[Best to go under that name, just in case Sabriel turned up.]

Mogget it is, then. I'm Warren.

What kind of mage are you?

[He's not much for manners, and that spell with the lawnmower had interested him.]

Wizard is the term we use in my world, actually, but you're not the first I've heard that word from.

[Not from his world at all then, it was disturbing to see these other types of strange magic.]

Wizard, then. The question stands.
