Merry Xmas! And a Happy New Year!
As you may have noticed, I stuck to my resolution not to send out any Christmas cards. Not even to my grandparents, which was an oversight rather than deliberate, but Oh Well.
I estimate that I've not sent 20 cards, which, at CHF 1.30 each for postage plus, say, 0.70 for each card (to make a nice round number, as they probably would have been home-made anyway), is CHF 40 saved, and I'd like to give it to charity. As you-all are the ones who didn't get cards, and I'm bored, I'm opening the floor for nominations, and in a few posts time there'll be a vote*. If you didn't send me a card because of my trees-are-for-books-not-just-for-Xmas policy, then let me know and I'll add CHF2 to the pot.
*I'm retaining my possession is 9/10ths of the law veto powers though.
I still haven't managed to get my Tunisia pictures onto the computer as I've left the cable at K's. Oops. Might do it tomorrow, if the suggested lack-of-cable solution works. Instead, This is part of the "Festival of Christmas Trees" in Geneva, which is where, every year, modern art comes out of the galleries and takes to the trees. I think - and I may be entirely wrong - that they are supposed to be circus performers, from the well-known Santa's North Pole Variety Show Extravaganza.
