This has been one of my favorite songs since I was five, and somehow it never gets old for me. Also, it's a fly-by version of Cold War history! I learned all kinds of cool things from my history-buff dad explaining the lyrics of this song.
2. This is why my neighborhood rocks:
JENSEN STREET. Five minutes away from my apartment! It makes me grin every time I go by it. Sadly, I don't think there's a Jared Street; Jared isn't really German enough of a name. But 's cool, I'm a Jensen girl anyway.

It's Girl!Sam, which I wouldn't have thought would be my thing, but it's complicated and hurty and tangled-up, no easy solutions and the writing is completely lovely.
