Last night it happened again.
Relatively quiet in my house at 2:00am (which, by the way, is impressive at my house) I decided to go to bed. I didn't have to wake up early, so I felt that I was going to get plenty of sleep.
Maybe about a half hour later I hear something scratching at my window. Not really at my window, but more along the window frame. It sounded more like something was prying it open.
Thinking that it was most likely just the wind and the tin foil that I've taped to block out as much natural light as possible working against me, I decided to just ignore it.
That's when I heard the unmistakable sound of my blinds being pushed aside.
Looking up towards the origin of the sound I noticed something creeping from behind my blinds. At first, I thought it was a couple of worms crawling out from the window area. In my haze, I didn't feel like it was anything to worry about. Worms? That's strange, but not dangerous. Not dangerous until I saw them pulse and begin to grow.
I put on my glasses and definitely saw something reaching out towards me. They weren't worms, they were, I suppose, tentacles or very long and twisted fingers.
I jumped up out of my bed and, tripping over various obstacles along the way, managed to find my door handle, but I forgot that I had locked it. After failing with the lock, I began fumbling with the lightswitch, all the while staring at these tentacle-fingers still reaching down for the area where I had been laying.
The light came on and the tentacles were gone.
It was not easy to get back to sleep after that. I ended up having to watch a movie to help calm me down. I know they weren't there, but after the other night, I wasn't feeling very easy.
