[ Elle is huddled up in a blanket, knees pulled up to her chest, arms curled around her on the corner of a couch. It's been a bad few days -- hell, a bad few weeks, even -- so sue her for looking a little frazzled by them. You know what the worst thing about snow is? It's wet. It's supposed to be all frozen but guess what? Snowballs? Sledding ( Read more... )

I'm not even gonna ask the stupid question, here. How long has that been happening to you?

Good choice.

How long has what been happening? The snow? Pretty sure it's been a twenty-four hour constant, Yappy.

Okay, so I'll pass off the stupid questions medal to you, then. The blue light in your skin. Are you sparking or something?

It's only been broken since I got here. [ Okay, and that time before too, but ... ] But I've had it since I was six. Are you getting to a point any time soon?

It's you? Why can't you stop it? What is it? [Yeah he's...freaking out, please don't find and kill him.]

Yeah, Sherlock, it's me. Surprise. It's called a superpower. Duh. Don't tell me you're seriously so lame that you've never seen a movie before.

Movie? Screw that, it's all comics. Static was my damn idol. "Don't start none won't be none!"

[A bit softer:] It hurt bad?

[ The Static comment makes her smile but it twitches back after a moment when a shock runs through her and a frown replaces it. ]

Yeah. It's worse when I get wet. Like the fountain, and the snow. I can kind of ignore it like the ticking, otherwise. It's not as bad as it was last time.

Not that you care.

[He smiles back and points, an attempt at gentle teasing.] Watch out, I saw that.

...Have you ever-- nevermind, it's your power. You've probably tried everything.

[ As much as she doesn't want to admit she needs the help, she ... could really use it. And it's not like Sylar is around for her to blast into next week to make her feel better. If it would even work this time around. She's pretty sure the only needs blasting is ... well, her and Noah Bennet. Begrudgingly, she decides it's better to ask. ]

... Tried what?

[He looks reluctant.] It might be stupid, but maybe you could conduct the excess away from you? Like discharging a capacitor.

apologies to any actual electric-knowledgable folks for the following butchery... ageoftheg33k December 3 2010, 02:23:55 UTC
[Excuse him while he jumps into confusing nerd-speech, moving from his desk to the worktable and grabbing a little tiny thing to show Elle.]

It's kind of like a little battery. Well, okay it doesn't produce the electrons, but it stores them and provides a charge when needed. You have to discharge it safely in order to handle it so that you don't get zapped. Pretty much anything electronic has one.

pfffffft looks legit to me. causeblackouts December 3 2010, 02:31:07 UTC
So what are you like some kind of electrical engineer or whatever? I'm not a battery.

[ even though that sure explains why blasting sylar until he cried helped. ]

[Hardison doesn't say anything, just shows a very cocky grin and pans the camera across his lab. His enormous lab filled with gutted computers, robots and other machines in stages of being built, a couple AI bots doing menial labor and back around to him smiling.]

Yeah, kinda. You could say that. But if you won't want a hand, that's fine. Just-- maybe go find a rundown building and find the transformer and just zap the crap out of it. Might relieve some of this.

[ oh. whoa. that's kind of cool. ]

Yeah ... rundown building. Good idea. [ she's thinking more of making herself a deep-fried cheerleader ... ] Thanks, I guess.
