Gaming

So, I am pissed at my gaming group. Well, to be honest, not the entire group - more like two members of the seven person band that I am running for. Why, you may ask. Good question. I answer below in list format.

1. The bard is stealing anything and everything he can that may be potentially useful for anyone in the group. I place things very specifically, as my worlds tend to be deadly. Hurts the entire team when that happens.

2. Aforementioned bard is trying to palm off a pair of what are either ordinary gloves with a fake magical aura cast upon them, or a pair of cursed gloves of dexterity to the rogue in exchange for Boots of Elvenkind. Which, incidentally, were placed for either the rogue or the ranger.

3. The cleric is playing his character like a really badly played rogue, and does not seem to grasp the concept that if the group can see a spell effect that has been mentioned from the first game, then so can everyone else. Twenty-four weeks later, the description has not changed. Why be surprised?

4. The person playing the bard seems to have issues with the fact that not everything in my world is as written in the book. Hell, I merged five different systems into creating this world, so obviously things are going to be a touch bit different. But, the amazing thing is that he knew this going in. What the hell did he expect, that suddenly a world that has 'spiritual weapon - double barrelled shotgun' would suddenly turn into a regular D&D world? News flash - alignments are a guideline, not a written in stone constant.

5. This is a game. The point is not to win or accumulate the most gear. The point is to have fun. And these two people are making the game not fun for everyone.

In order to survive for any length of time in my world, you have to work together as a group (which is amusing considering that I personally hate group work and being stuck with a bunch of people). So, I think a little reminder is in order as to why I have the reputation I have as a gamemaster. Needless to say, Teusday is expected to be a bloodbath.

idiots, d&d, gaming
