My spirit aches to be back in the warmth of Hawaii. I find it a little sad how a lot of my fellow island expatriates dislike even "hate" Hawaii. What's not to like..? Some might say the people and how they can be stuck up or even rude which I must admit is true (especially if you're white) another reason would be "island fever" (which I can relate to) and finally it's how slow and and lacking any sort of culture aside from the Hawaiian culture (which is also true). Butt fuck man! Assholes are a dime a dozen and I am sure even in Shangri La there is at least one neighborhood prick, and the lack of different cultures and island fever is easily treated with an airline ticket. All of that is trounced in my opinion with Hawaii's unique raw feeling of rejuvination. No where else in the world can you drive safely to a volcano that isn't exploding toxic ash into the atmosphere but instead spews flowing beautiful rivers of fire. Then drive a couple of hours to go skiing or snow boarding, then take a break to see the cosmos in the clearest of skies. I miss Hawaii. My spirit needs to re-charge in the warmth of Pele fire
