baby, i'm a rockstar

so, i finally did it.
i ordered some pro equipment and am going to start recording the music that i've written over the years. i guess it's sort of james's fault; when he introduces me to people, he includes that i'm an "incredible musician." which is funny to me. i'm pretty critical of my own music, but lately i've let a few people listen and i've gotten nothing but great responses, even from those who don't really like that style of music.

so i've got a mixer, an incredible mic, cubase for my computer, and my piano. i've taken off work next week to stay home and record. i was originally going to go to lake gaston with my family, but this is better since no one will be in the house making noise. plus, i can just make james take me out on the river if i want. haha

leslie came over last night to cut everyone's hair and i invited james over since they went to high school together. katie came over, too. it started pouring down rain right when they were going to leave, and the power went out, so james got his guitar and we all sat in the living room and listened to him sing for a while. i love listening to him. he's got this deep, rich sound that is so perfect for country music. he does a great toby keith. hehe. leslie lives near this bar that has a karaoke night, so we kinda made plans to go out tonight.

only bill (leslie's husband) ended up not being able to go. so i called james and turns out he couldn't go either since he had rescue squad duty. i went to subway and got a sandwich and then met him at the rescue squad and hung out with him for a while. he showed me around the place, all the phones and equipment, the ambulances, etc. then we watched a few episodes of csi, which was nice cuz i got to snuggle with him on the couch, and i love to snuggle. :) and while i don't think he'd admit to it, i think he likes to snuggle, too. lol
