Out of town for a wedding.
Going to sleep soon. Then I shall awaken found 5am to take a shower and try to eat something. Followed by my mother driving us to the airport for our flight in the 8th hour of the new day.
Then we shall make one transfer and end up in Chicago. I'd ask if any of you live in or around Chicago want to hang out but I'm not sure if I'll be free at all while I'm there. Still, anyone want to try and meet up?
Reminder of why I'm there. My dearest older and only brother is getting married on Saturday. My sister, brother in law and I are all standing up for him along with others. My nephews will have some part to play and my mother is of course the Mother of the Groom. His fiancee's family is upper class and all the events require me to dress up more than I am comfortable with.
So far I know I'll be attending: A house party at their place, getting my nails done with the rest of the wedding party (and hopefully my lip and eyebrows too), the wedding rehearsal, a nice dinner the night before, getting hair done before wedding, wearing a charcoal dress for the wedding and reception, and finally a brunch on Sunday morning. I have no idea if anything else is expected of me but I'm anticipating getting poked/pinched by family for various reasons, being told to sit up straight and put my shoulds back, dear god don't sit down in that dress like that, where are your heels you can't take them off and possibly having at least one crying or screaming fit.
STRESS THY NAME IS SIBLING MARRIAGES.
Plus I've told my entire family to expect this to be the last wedding from my side as my sister is married, my brother is getting married and I'm never going to. To which I get, of course sweetie, 8pats on the head/hand* but someday you'll change your mind. I can't wait for more of that.
I will try and jump on LJ or Twitter whenever I get a chance but I fear that someone might hide my laptop from me and force me to socialise with strangers.....cue me at my most awkward.
