So I just read where someone talked about writing down "three good things" about your day to make you feel more grateful, which is always a good idea in my book:
1. This morning was a rehearsal with my 'sisters in music,' and that is something that always makes me feel happy. These are women that I've known for just a few years now, but it feels like I have known them much longer. We sing together -- in rehearsals, church services, annual teas and luncheons, nursing homes and other outreach -- and we laugh together, and sometimes we cry together. I'm really grateful to be a member of the group, and to the very special lady who invited me to join (and kept after me until I gave in and joined "just once to see if I like it"! :-) Thank you, dear Ande!
2. I went out with my BFF today -- we went to see "Fifty Shades of Grey," not exactly my first choice, but she wanted to see it and didn't want to go alone. She paid for my movie ticket and then bought lunch for us at Pizza Rev afterwards (YUM, pizza!!) Neither of us really liked the movie, but as I just told her in a thank you email, now I can talk about it if it comes up in conversation.
She's been my best friend since we met in junior high (a looong time ago, trust me on that), and spending time with her always makes a day even better. Also, at the movies we saw a bunch of movie previews, including a couple that we agreed we'd like to see when they come out.
3. When we got back to my house (she drove), I saw that I'd gotten a new book in the mail, which I won in a contest at BookReporter.com! I need to read it soon since you have to reply back to them with a review, or at least some thoughts, but it looks like a good book. It's called "Whiskey & Charlie" by Annabel Smith, about two brothers.
