Feminism is bad, m'kay? (/sarcasm)

Just a quickie after getting back home...

My dear friend and ruthless basher of bullshit sunfell has eviscerated a punditry about the 'Cultural Devastation of American Women' (caused, of course, by Teh Ebil Feminizm) with great gusto here.

Extract:
"Folks, the feminine maladies cited above are not caused by this writers' perception of 'feminism', they are caused by the blind adherence of people- men and women- to the Corporate Life Script™.

Let's break it down, shall we?

...feminism has taken motherhood, nest, the womanly arts of cooking, gardening, and nurturing away from women...

Who says that all women are cut out to be moms, cooks, gardeners or nurturers? The Life Script does. But three of those things are not up my alley at all. I cook and garden because I like to, not because any outwardly imposed genetic or social Life Script dictates that I have to. And I wonder if the writer has ever seen a nest up close? They're nasty things. I prefer a cozy home, not a 'nest'. And let's consider the Prime Directive, the One and Only Commandment of the Corporate Life Script:

Thou Shalt Buy More Stuff!

So, of course this Life Script 'liberation' has taken away the arts of cooking, gardening and housekeeping away from people- They no longer have the time, since they're so busy earning more money to Buy More Stuff, and they can hire out those chores to maids, landscapers, and restaurants?

...They are pathologically vain, materialistic as clearly demonstrated in their overly decorated, sterile home, and landscaped yards...

Huh? I don't know any people like this, do you? And if you do know people like this, do you actually like them, or are you holding your breath to keep their stench of desperate conformity out of your nose?"
