Obviously it's been a few days since we got back from DC. It was a lot more fun than I had even expected. The drive...wasn't so bad because I was in good company and the sights we got to see (the government buildings are closed during the weekends) were pretty cool. So here's what we did saw in a quick, handy dandy list.
*Left Friday at about 7pm and drove all night, arriving in DC at about 9:00 am
*Proceeded to walk for 6 hours around the city exploring what we could. This included: The Washington Monument, The Lincoln Memorial, the reflecting pool between those two, the Vietnam Memorial, the FDR Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, The Holocaust Memorial/Museum (we had lunch there as well) and the White House. I guess it doesn't sound like a lot in retrospect but it was definitely enough.
* We stayed at a very nice hotel (with an awesome bed) and got it for cheap. That was pretty sweet.
* Had dinner at Logan's Tavern, a couple beers at Bricksellers and then moved over to a club near the hotel called Halo to end the night with more drinks
* left Sunday morning but not before a quick driveby of the Capital Building, Building where Lincoln was shot/died, the Supreme Court House, Arlington Cememtery (we decided not to stop because there were SO many people) and the Pentagon.
* Got back home at a very early 4am and got some rest before my training that afternoon.

Other things? Lisa comes this weekend so that'll be fun. I head up to the Gainsville area for a couple days next week for the 4th and then maybe a stop in Sarasota to see James? Who knows. I just have a few weeks of freedom with no trainings and I want to use it to my advantage. I can't believe the summer is almost over!!! Oh no!
