I haven't talked about it much here, but ever since February I've had a 29 gallon aquarium in my bedroom. I started it off with a few goldfish which ended up having parasites (never shopping at Super Pet ever again), got sick and died. Then I rescued some baby goldfish from my neighbour, which also got sick, but thankfully didn't die since we treated the tank. Next up I got some lovely little neon tetras and they've been living happily with the goldfish (who got pretty darn big pretty fast) for the last two months.
Now my parents finally got our pond up and running, so we moved the goldfish over there, which means new tropical fish time!
First I got two beautiful
golden gourami, one male and one female. The female is currently exploring the tank but the male is hiding behind a rock. Gourami are really neat fish because they have two "feelers" that look a bit like whiskers, and they use them to feel around and it's neat to watch. The guy at the fish store told me he's seen gourami who have lost their eyes but use their whiskers to feel around. Pretty crazy but cool.
Next I picked up two
oto cats which are nifty little bottom feeders. Hopefully they'll keep my algae problem in check!
I just hope my male gourami is ok. Then again fish tend to hide when you first get them. He's such a wuss haha.
