Don't Even Feel Like Titling This.
Well, it took about 10 days, but I think I'm used to my contact lenses lens. It no longer feels like I have a stick in my eyeball and I can actually forget about it. Actually, at my one week check she adjusted me to a slightly lower lens strength and that really did the trick to stop the disorienting/hard to focus feeling.
I start work tomorrow morning.
The significance of this life change is really hitting me this evening. Dealing with it the best I can, and realizing that things will smooth out and it will soon feel 'normal'.
Wish I hadn't gorged on a turtle ice cream in a waffle cone this afternoon. "I deserve it since I'm going back to work after nine years off" was my justification, but now I just feel like more of a whale than ever.
