After dinner this evening I started watching
Flawless, a 1999 movie with Robert DeNiro and Philip Seymour Hoffman. From IMDB:
Walt Koontz, a homophobic guy, ends up with paralyzed vocal cords because of an unfortunate stroke. His therapy includes receiving singing lessons from a neighbor who is not only openly flamboyant but also a pre-op transgenderist. Both of them are equally prejudiced; Koontz against homosexuals and the neighbor against close-minded straight people.
I recently was impressed with Hoffman's acting in Doubt, but I was absolutely blown away by his portrayal of a drag queen in this film. Overall the movie was OK, but I was completely drawn in by his utterly brilliant performance.
Has anyone seen it?
