OK...finally saw The Hobbit..

Well...I did enjoy myself, sitting in the back row as no one else in my house was interested so I went alone.

First of all..who's bright idea was it to have Thranduil ride an elk? Never in my imaginings of him have I ever pictured him on an elk. It was totally bizarre to me and made no sense whatsover. Now Radagast? Him I can see on an elk as he is the Wizard of the animals as I see him. But Thranduil..no, if I ever thought of him riding anything, it would be a Mearas type horse. In gray or white. Have to say that I wasn't too keen on the actor either, I see Thranduil as wild and regal in my mind's eye and this actor just didn't do it for me, his eyebrows were way too distracting for one.

And..not enough Elrond. I don't know what anti ageing potion Hugo Weaving has been drinking but his Elrond looked way younger and yummier that in the first LOTR movies. That bit when he comes in on his black stallion and leaps off it...wowza. Yes, I am very shallow and think I will now go look for some *good* Elrond pron.

And Lindir? Come on, where is my Glorfindel and Elladan/Elrohir?

Hot Dwarf. Two words I never thought I'd say. But Richard Armitage has changed my mind as Thorin. I now want to go find some of his other work. Kili and Fili were rather yummy too...LOL

Alas Bilbo. I am sorry for the hobbit fanciers out there but I was way more interested in the other peoples out there rather than the hobbit bits.Always have been. In ROTK, I kept yelling at the screen "get back to Rohan / Gondor already...LOL It was good to see Andy Serkis as Gollum again, no one does Gollum quite like him.

Yes, I admit it, I am an elf / dwarf fancier. I look forward to more of this and maybe Lee Pace will grow on me but I would rather have had someone like Jason Isaacs in the role as he does gorgeous/menacing so well.
