Need to Vent!
Ok so I've known Erin almost 30 years! Since I was a senior in High School and she was a Sophomore, she was even at my wedding to Tom! She was always the weirdest (weirder than me if you can believe that) one in the group at least emotionally. And that's saying something! I mean Tasha's mom was such a nut because she was so religious, She swore the only way to get to heaven was to be just like Jesus so she is a 60+ year old virgin even now (Tasha was adopted). Tasha's dad was a professor at one of the all girl colleges in Raleigh and slept with half his students! But I'm off on a tangent.
So anyway, we were all shocked when Erin married Brian 7 years ago. Why? He was a youth minister and not Erin's type! Brian still thinks Erin was a virgin on their wedding night, which all her friends knew was so not true because she had an abortion in college! Around him, she acts like the perfect minister's wife, but when she travels (she lives in Oregon but has season tickets to the hockey team in Raleigh's games and she goes to them all!) she is the old Erin we knew and loved in High School. Don't even get me started on when she and her daughter came out here 2 years ago!
So while we were in High School, she dated Vince. Thanks to Facebook, they reconnected about a year and a half ago and Vince admitted she was the one that got away. Which I know is total BS and so does everyone else. Vince is a manipulator and a confirmed bachelor. He's even worse now than he was in High School. So they've been texting and emailing etc since they reconnected, and Brian is completely clueless!
So apparently the Kings and the Devils are playing each other in LA on October 25th. Erin is friends with one of the Kings players and Vince's favorite hockey team is the Devils. So they are planning a romantic week together (she says it's their first, but according to Vince's status on Facebook, I seriously doubt it!
So Frankie has a post op appointment on Halloween down in LA. So we're heading down there to chill and celebrate Halloween in style. Shannon will also be in LA that week for work. Because of Tom needing the car and us going down there for Halloween, there's just no way we can afford going do to spend time with Shannon. Especially since she's coming back the week before Thanksgiving with Lainey and we're taking the kids to Disneyland! So we need to save money.
So Erin is pissed because I can't come down there. She's 35 and thinks the world revolves around her! She can't understand why I can't come down and switch Frankie's doctor's appointments. We already rescheduled the appointment once this week, we can NOT do it again. I keep trying to tell her we can't switch our plans anymore than she can change the date of the game!
Apparently if I'm not there, she can't use me as an alibi to cheat on her husband! Which I never agreed to do to begin with! I think her husband is an ass from the week we spent together last year in San Diego, but still. No one deserves their fake wife to cheat on them!
I've invited her to come up and see us, that's fine with me (as long as it's without Vince), but she's throwing a fit, acting as if she were still in High School. It's BS like this that Vince broke up with her to begin with all those years ago!
She's getting on my last nerve right now, and I want to kill her! Or better yet, send a message to Brian letting him know everything!
Am I in the wrong here? Should I be forced to give up plans I've had set for awhile just to please her? Screw up my son's excitement so she can fuck a guy who could care less about her? Yeah I didn't think so... To bad she does!
