So....

Finally started working on my plot outline for NaNo today, and my character is really taking shape. To be fair, I used the Character Workbook from the High School section on the Young Writers site, but I think she's coming out nicely... Her name is Gracie Ann Patrick, and here's her pic

My problem is her nationality. She looks Native American or Hispanic in the pic, but I don't know if that'll work since I currently have that she's from Boston (Staring points are Boston, New York, Washington, and Richmond).

That might also change... I'm having her in being the middle of 7 children, the other 6 are boys. So she knows how to ride, hunt, shoot, etc. Her mom also died when she was 6 years old.

I want her from somewhere back East, maybe near a big town, but also somewhere where she could do the above mentioned things...

Now I just have to figure out prices... I'm thinking just move the decimal over so a nice room at the hotel (from before she had the house) would go from $250 a night to $2.50. Does that sound about right for the 1800's?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
