Yet again, long time without posting. The ship has been underway again for yet more inspectons, so its been hard to find time when not only am I not busy but the internet is up as well. The ship's telecommunications system sucks. Medical had a huge part in both of the inspections this underway- we've had more MRT drills, patients for GQ, and Mass Casualty drills than any other time I can think of.
With the results of the chief's exam out Medical now has a new LPO, who is seriously more relaxed. Things have gotten better in the department just in the past few days. We've been getting off at decent hours for one instead of having to be up until 2100 or taps just because. The general atmosphere of the department is more relaxed as well. Quite a few of the first classes I know made chief, which is pretty cool. It opens things up a bit more for the lower ranks. Not like it matters much to me. I can't take the exam anyways because I have to go through school first.
We've also got yet another person into Medical. He's already rated, and has orders for school in March. Apparently he knows an Admiral. Some people just have all the luck. All I can do is wait. In the meantime I've been keeping myself occupied by writing yet another Sailor Moon fic. It's actually going pretty well, and even though I know I've said it before I think I might actually be able to finish this one. Not only that, but I spend a couple of hours every few days practicing music with a bunch of other people to perform at the Contemporary Protestant mass on Sunday mornings. So far we have three or four female singers, and at least seven guys who play the guitar and also sing. It's a lot of fun. It's been altogther too long since I've last sung in a group.
