There's a lot of reasons I dislike Rachel Ray, but I never though radical Islamic jihadist would be one of them. Seriously though, if she's eating in San Francisco for $40 all day, how much of a democracy loving capitalist can she really be?
Dunkin' Donuts pulls Rachael Ray ad BOSTON (AP) -- Dunkin' Donuts has pulled an online advertisement featuring Rachael Ray after complaints that a fringed black-and-white scarf that the celebrity chef wore in the ad offers symbolic support for Muslim extremism and terrorism.
The coffee and baked goods chain said the ad that began appearing online May 7 was pulled over the past weekend because "the possibility of misperception detracted from its original intention to promote our iced coffee."
But I'm like staring at that sentence, "the possibility of misperception detracted from its original intention to promote our iced coffee." and I can't get passed that line. I keep thinking about how Islamic Jihad is not the proper message by which to sell iced coffee. How can... I mean... Jesus. Can you get more absurdist? I used to think the ultimate in postmodern came from my cell phone sending me emails, but this may top that.
